The 2017 SWVA Careers Expo for Youth was developed to expose middle school students to future career paths as a snapshot to decision making. Seventh grade students from schools around the region will participate in this event by rotating through the quandrants to explore career demonstrations provided by 75 businesses. Students from 15 school systems will be participating with a total of over 2,500 students coming through the vendor demonstration area.
Volunteers will assist in ensuring this event runs smoothly. Volunteers may be helping with any set-up or take-down of the displays; greeting students as they arrive; assist with navigation throughout the facility and transition from one area to another; assist with check in of other volunteers, vendors and schools; assist with delivery of food and sancks for vendors and volunteers, parking, maintenace; and any other tasks that needs to be done to make the event as successful as possible for our students/teachers.
